Speed & Resolution
This HP 8500 allows you to print, fax, scan, and copy. Although some users feedback that it may let you wait for a while when it starts up, the printing speed is fast. HP claims that this printer can print 35 monochrome pages/ minute, and about 34 color pages/ minute. Black-and-white print resolution is 1,200 dpi ( dots / inch ) and color one is 4,800×1,200 dpi.

The speed of fax transmission is 3 sec / page with 300×300 dpi resolution. The memory can store 125 pages.
4,800 dpi is the optical scanner resolution of this HP and 19,200 dpi is the software-enhanced resolution. This printer offers an 8.5” x 14” document feeder which is automatic. Documents which is 8.5” x 11.7” can fit on the flatbed.
